EPYC or Ryzen: which VPS fits your project?

Your application matters more than the processor name. Compare plans without confusing virtual resources with your own physical hardware.

The application comes before the plan

List everything that will run at the same time: a web server, database, bots or a game server with additional resources. Check each application's requirements. A small service and a large community project do not automatically need the same plan.

Our EPYC VPS and Ryzen VPS plans are virtual servers with a selected resource allocation. A dedicated server is your own physical server. A category alone does not promise a particular player count or application performance.

Compare these four specifications

  1. CPU and virtual cores: vCPU cores are allocated virtual CPU resources, not necessarily exclusive physical cores. Extra cores help when your application can use parallel processing. Compare the actual CPU model too; “EPYC” or “Ryzen” alone is not a performance measurement.
  2. Memory: the operating system, applications and database share RAM. Allow for simultaneous load and peaks. Read our RAM planning guide.
  3. Storage: check usable capacity, storage type and space for data, logs and updates. A backup on the same VM is not a substitute for a separate backup.
  4. Network: shared host connectivity is not guaranteed bandwidth for every VM. Check traffic rules, assigned IP addresses and the specific protection plan.

Websites, bots and apps

At MYPS, EPYC plans are a starting point for these uses. Compare the whole allocation, not just the entry price. A website with a database and other services needs enough resources for all of them. At the same budget, compare RAM, storage and vCPU cores; the cheapest suitable option is not necessarily the smallest plan.

Game servers and community projects

Our Ryzen plans are listed under gaming and apps. Actual performance also depends on your software, resources, configuration and load. Use the software publisher's requirements and measure after launch. A RAM figure cannot reliably determine player capacity.

Compare in practice: select two or three offers using “Compare plan” on a product page. Names, prices and specifications come from the visible cards. The server finder filters selected fixed plans by base budget and RAM.

Before placing your order

Review the term, setup charges, extras and final total in your cart. Check which DDoS plan covers which IP. Provisioning and management features depend on the product. If an important requirement is unclear, ask us before ordering.
